Louisa & Vaughn chose a semi-naked cake for their wedding. The cake was a rich chocolate sponge filled with dark chocolate ganache & decorated with seasonal berries.
Gelukkie, Daryn & Courtney – 3 December 2016
Daryn & Courtney chose a three tiered fondant covered cake to tie in with their colours of soft pinks. The base tier was decorated polystyrene dummy covered in a soft pink and decorated with tiny applique flowers made from gum-paste. The middle and tops tiers were a rich chocolate sponge filled with milk chocolate ganache and pecan nut praline. These tiers were decorated with fondant lace pieces and a dark pink sugar roses.
Gelukkie, Hailey & Jeremy – 26 November 2016
Hailey & Jeremy chose a carrot cake filled with cream cheese frosting for their wedding cake. It was done in a semi-naked style with tiers being one and half times the normal height. The deep rich colours of the flowers really set off the whiteness of the buttercream.
Gelukkie, Elmien & Hugo – 29 October 2016
This was such a fun-filled “wedding cake” to make. The small cutting cake was a rich chocolate sponge filled with peanut butter cream cheese frosting. Accompanying the cake were salted caramel blondies and fudgy brownies.
Sea Trader, Quinten & Jaques – 24 September 2016
Quinten & Jaques chose a single tier cutting cake. The sponge was coffee flavoured drizzled with espresso syrup and filled with dark chocolate ganache. Accompanying the cutting cake were matching cupcakes with a yellow rose swirl done in buttercream.
Sea Trader, Natasha & Christo – 10 September 2016
Natasha & Christo chose a single tier chocolate cake filled with peppermint crisp fudgy frosting. The cake was covered in ivory fondant & decorated with piped filigree royal icing.
Gelukkie, Melissa & Markus – 5 December 2015
This was my very first wedding cake. Thank you so much to Melissa & Markus for trusting me with your wedding cake & to Gelukkie for giving me my very first wedding commission. This three tier wedding cake consisted of a top tier: delicate champagne sponge filled with vanilla bean pastry cream. Middle tier: rich chocolate sponge cake filled with raspberry puree & raspberry buttercream. Accompanying the cake were sugar cookies bearing the name Melissa & Markus which were given to the guests as favours.
I just wanted to take a quick moment to say thank you for your beautiful creations…the cake was absolutely divine and delicious. The cookies were lovely…everything was perfect! It was such a pleasure “working” with you and you made everything so easy and effortless. We had such an amazing day on Saturday and couldn’t have wished for more. A bit sad it’s all over…I wish there was still some cake left! Thank you so much again, Gay…I really appreciate all your hard work. Everything of the best for the future.
