Sea Trader, St. Helena Bay – Dominique and Corluhan – 4 January 2020

It was a beautiful summer’s day in January. Dominique and Corluhan celebrated their union with a West Coast beach wedding held at Sea Trader in St. Helena Bay. In front of family and friends this was a wonderful celebration of two different cultures, Brazilian and South African.

I am very grateful that they chose A Cake Story to make their wedding cake.

Dominique chose a semi-naked style wedding cake. The cake consisted of three tiers. Each tier was a rich coconut sponge cake with almond notes. The filling was passionfruit curd. All covered in a rich smooth buttercream.

This semi-naked style of cake fitted in perfectly with the informality of the venue and the casual elegance of the décor. The décor was mainly green with touches of white. The colour scheme was reflected on the cake by using some of the flowers and foliage.
