Sea Trader, St. Helena Bay – Kyle & Lezelle – 18 March 2017

On the 18 March 2017 Kyle and Lezelle celebrated their union with a West Coast beach wedding at Sea Trader, St. Helena Bay.  

Early December 2016 Kyle got in touch asking if I would be able to make their wedding cake. I of course said yes! I love making wedding cakes. The designs that he and Lezelle were thinking about were so pretty. Shades of pink being the  colour theme.

The design they chose was a four-tier fondant covered wedding cake. The top tier was a cutting cake sat upon three decorated polystyrene blanks. The cutting cake was a moist red velvet sponge filled with rich cream cheese frosting.

The top and third tier were covered in white fondant with piped royal icing filigree work. The second tier had a monogrammed “C” to represent their married surname. The fourth tier was white fondant with light pink vertical panels. Around the base of each tier was a piped shell border. I really enjoy making fondant covered cakes.

So that their guests could share the delicious cake, Kyle and Lezelle chose to serve our pre-portioned red velvet and vanilla sheet cake. What’s really nice about serving our pre-portioned sheet cakes is that your guests get to share in the cake moment without having to wait for the cake to be portioned and served. Plus as an added bonus – having a cutting cake like this is much more cost effective.
